Canyons District Art Show Submission

REAL WORLD ART COMPETITION

FROM THE DISTRICT:

Each full time teacher may enter 10 arts pieces, (2D and/or 3D)

Individual work only, no group projects.

Art tags will be filled out electronically this year and can be found on the district arts webpage under “Art Forms” at the following link:

http://csdarts.weebly.com/uploads/9/5/6/3/9563459/art_show_tags_canyons_2016.pdf

Please have students complete the form and then print it out on WHITE paper and attach to their artwork, one tag specifically for the front and one tag for the back. Remember to fill out the artist’s statement. This information is very popular with viewers. We will again have the “People’s Choice Award” for patrons viewing the art show, so this new process for tags should help make the display look more professional as well as having the tags more legible. To help make things more efficient, teachers need to fill out information for their entries online in a Google Doc that will be shared with you via email. There is a separate “tab” (at the bottom of the doc) for each school. Please add your information to the appropriate tab.

As professionals, please make sure every piece you bring is ready to be properly and securely hung/displayed with best presentation in mind. I cannot be responsible if a piece falls because it was not equipped with appropriate hardware for size and weight of the piece.

Vans Custom Culture Shoe Design Competition -

High school art classes across the US are invited to compete in a shoe customization contest that grows on a state to regional to national level, culminating in a high-visibility event in New York this June.
Vans staff will select 10 high schools from each region (North/South/East/Wet/California) to compete for a spot in the regional finals.
The semi-finalists will be posted here where the public will vote to determine 5 finalists. A panel of judges including Vans artists and athletes will then choose the winner at a final event in New York.
