Altered Self Image
Using an image of yourself, you will alter the image in whatever way you deem necessary, while still being able to recognize (at least a little) who the image is of. Emphasis here is on using different filters, new, down-loaded and alternative brushes, and finally the Layers palette and options to complete the image. As always remember to use Unsharp mask and the Image>Adjustments>Brightness/contrast, Hue/Saturation or any other adjustments to complete the image. You have a good amount of time to work on these (going into next week) so really make sure you use that time to explore the different layers options, brushes and filters to make the best, time-intensive image that you can!

Color Overlay:
►Select the car’s paintjob
►Make sure to exclude headlights, wheels, glass, etc
►Use the Magic Wand to click on the main area of the car first, select Lasso, and then hold down Alt to subtract from the selected image, or Shift to add to it. Keep going until the “running ants” have selected the car without the windshield or lights, tires, etc.
- Select Edit>and then Edit>Paste
-This gives the paintjob its own layer.

Welcome Commercial Art II (and III)
Welcome to 3rd trimester and glad to have you! We have alot of awesome projects and work to do ahead of us, almost all of it from real world clients. To insure we can deliver amazing products and images, we need to review some of the most crucial tools required. Armed with Photoshop CS5, let's get started with:
THE TOP FIVE TOOLS AND FILTERS TO USE ON EVERY PHOTO/SCAN!
1. Unsharp Mask- Use it before you do anything else, each and every time you drag an image/open an image in photoshop.
2. Crop- Get rid of those unnecessary elements and focus on the image itself- remember to check your size though! (Menu> Image> Image Size) You always have to have the correct size for your client!!!
3. Free Transform/Transform - Rotate, Flip, Perspective Skew, Warp, everything you need to make this image look right!
4. Brightness/Contrast- In this class we will learn better ways of doing this and getting the most out of our images, but you can't beat the quick and easy Up the contrast, barely raise or lower the Brightness.
5. Clone Stamp- Get rid of those unwanted blemishes, people, red eyes, etc. with one of the best (if not time consuming) tools in PSCS5.
Below you will practice your skills on helping me "fix" these images- All of them have to be flipped Horizontally! Here's the way it will work:
Size: 8"x10" PPI: 300
Last names A-C, work on first five images. D-G, work on next five. H-M, next five. N-S, next five. T-Z, last five.
Drop in D Chandler hand-in folder saved as a JPEG. Go to work!
